Fluorescent Reflector Floods are a great replacement for flood lights in places that get a tremendous amount of usage.  The best places for these lamps would be recessed fixtures and open hanging fixtures. 

Many of these lamps include the ALTO technology.  ALTO technology reduces the amount of mercury in a lamp without compromising performance.  These lamps meet the EPA's TCLP test for non-hazardous waste.   If you need a different type of compact fluorescent, take another look at the major catagories of compact fluorescent light bulbs.
